Dick Mac Neill was born in Pasuruan, Java, then part of the Dutch East Indies colony, but lived in Heemstede in the Noord-Holland province. He won seven caps as a goalkeeper, all in 1920. Four of these came during the Antwerpen Olympics, where the Dutch team was awarded the bronze medal after the Czechoslovakian team was disqualified. Mac Neill worked as a clerk, and was later director of a trading company.
