Biography

Ingolf Pedersen wore the colours of the club Odd Skien from 1910-24 mainly on the position of a goalkeeper. With his club he became the first Norwegian footballer to win five cup championships (1913, 1915, 1919, 1922 and 1924) and was a losing finalist in 1910 and 1921. After retiring he later became team manager and board member of the club.

Pedersen’s first games with the national team were two friendlies against Celtic Glasgow in 1912. His début in official international matches came in June 1912 against Sweden. At the 1912 Olympic Games, he represented Norway in the matches against Denmark and Austria, both of which were lost without scoring a single goal. He won his final cap in 1917 when Norway lost in an away friendly against Denmark 12-0. Of his 19 official international games the team lost 13 achieving a draw in the remaining six and conceding 69 goals. Pedersen played more than 500 matches for his club, his regional selection and the national team. In addition to football, he excelled in speed skating and athletics and also competed in gymnastics, boxing, rowing, and bandy.

Pedersen worked in Skien as a baker and there he married Astrid Sørensen in 1918.
