Biography

Juan Píriz was a center-half who also played some at left-halfback. He played for Peñarol for whom he made his début at the age of 19, and he then played for Defensor and Nacional. Píriz was selected for the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics and played in the match against Germany and in the replay of the final with Argentina. These were his only two appearances for the national team. His brother Conduelo Píriz was a substitute at the 1930 FIFA World Cup.
