Biography

A left-footed defender who also played as a left-midfielder if necessary, Humberto Tomassina was part of the victorious Uruguayan team that won the gold medal at the 1924 Paris Olympics. Tomassina was a leader of Liverpool FC Montevideo. He played five matches with the national team, including two at the Olympics against Yugoslavia and United States. He was also part of the squad that won the 1923 Copa América on home soil, although he did not play in the tournament.
