Biography

Svend Engedal was a goalkeeper who was born in Denmark, but came to the US and received citizenship in September 1955. Engedal graduated from the Danish Naval Academy in 1949. He played for the Danish-American Soccer Club and played on all-star teams in Denmark and California. In addition to playing at the 1956 Olympics, Engedal played for the US national team in two losses against Mexico in 1957. In the US he worked as a salesman at the time of the 1956 Olympics.
