Biography

Damian Silvera was a football (soccer) midfielder who played in college at the University of Virginia, helping them win three consecutive NCAA titles in 1992-94. He graduated as Virginia’s all-time leader in assists. After graduation Silvera was allocated to the MetroStars of Major League Soccer, in preparation for the league’s first year of play. Internationally Silvera played at the 1995 Pan American Games and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Silvera had only a short career as a professional player. He was with the Stars for the 1996 season, and then played a few games in 1997 with the Kansas City Wizards. He later coached youth soccer in the Atlanta area.
