Biography

The last team member to ensure her place on the team, Carla Braan competed with the Dutch team in the 1976 Olympics just a few days shy of her 15th birthday. The squad placed 11th in a field of 12. Braan’s older brother, Jaap, was a player for FC Volendam, playing in the top tiers of Dutch professional football in the 1970s. After her marriage, Carla Braan migrated to New Zealand with her husband.
