Biography

Georges Galinat was an active member of the Association Sportive Michelin in Clermont-Ferrand in the early 1920s, along with his brother Paul. The heavyweight boxing champion of Auvergne from 1922–25, Galinat competed in the heavyweight tournament at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, but lost a decision to the American Ed Greathouse in his only match. He later became a noted architect in his hometown of Riom.
