Georg Selenius was a member of the Norwegian men’s gymnastics team, which won an Olympic gold medal in the all-around free system event. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became an art turner. Later, he added umbrella making and cigar dealing to his business, which was in Glemmen, now part of Fredrikstad.
In 1914, he married Jenny Amanda Pettersen. After the birth of a daughter, twins (boy and girl) were born, however, the baby girl died in infancy. George Selenius died young at age 39.
