Biography

Backcourt handball player Jan Fegter came seventh with the German team at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He won 61 international caps and scored 167 goals. He participated in the 1995 World Championships (4th) and the 1996 Europeans (7th).

Domestically, Fegter played with SG VTB / Altjührden (1987-90), Bayer Leverkusen (1990-92), SG Hameln (1992-95), SG Flensburg-Handewitt (1995-2003), Wilhelmshavener HV (2003-06), and Flensburg-Handewitt again (2006-07). He helped Flensburg win the EHF Cup in 1997, the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 2001, and the German Cup in 2003. Fegter later became a lawyer and notary at Flensburg.
