Biography

Goalkeeper Uwe Rathjen was on the West German handball team that finished sixth after losing the match for fifth place 17-16 against the Soviet Union at the 1972 München Olympics. Domestically, he played until 1968 with MTV Itzehoe, and then with Frisch-Auf! Göppingen from 1968-73. He helped Göppingen to win the West German Championship in 1970 and 1972.
