Biography

Center Herbert Wehnert belonged to the West German handball team that finished sixth after losing the match for fifth place 17-16 against the Soviet Union at the 1972 München Olympics. He won 85 international caps and scored 156 goals. Domestically, he played with TG Schierstein and SG Dietzenbach. He later turned to coaching. By profession, Wehnert was a teacher in a trade school.
