Biography

Saleh Dayef was a Kuwaiti handball player who represented Al-Nasr and the national team during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Dayef was part of Kuwait’s team that won the 1979 Arab Championship Cup with victory against Iraq. Later the same year Kuwait finished third at the 1979 Asian Men’s Handball Championship, with Japan winning the tournament to qualify for the 1980 Moskva Olympics. Japan and runners-up China, however, both refused to compete at the Moskva Games, with Kuwait taking their place instead. Two years later Dayef played for Kuwait at the 1982 Handball World Cup tournament in West Germany.
