Biography

Jim Rogers earned a BA in business from the University of Washington, graduating in 1969. He then served in the US Army. Rogers started playing handball in the Army, after playing basketball in high school and at junior college. After leaving the Army, and his two Olympic appearances, Rogers settled in Washington, setting up the Rogers-Norman Insurance Company.

He is a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, and a Certified Insurance Counselor. Rogers was President of the Independent Agent and Brokers of Washington (IIABW) in 2008, and was named by the IIABW as King County’s Agent of the Year in 2009. He and his wife have established the James G. Rogers Jr. Endowment for the Journey Program at Seattle Children’s Hospital, which provides counseling to parents and siblings who passed.
