Biography

German heavyweight judoka Claudia Weber finished fifth at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, losing the bronze medal bout against France’s Nathalie Lupino. Weber won the team bronze medal at the 1987 and 1993 European Championships. In 1991 and 1992, she won the silver medal at the Europeans, and in the first of those years, also won the bronze medal at the Worlds.

From 1987-89 Weber won the German national title, and from 1989-91 the team national title with her home club TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Weber later settled in Lörrach, and became a city guide.
