Jana Perlberg was eliminated at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the extra-lightweight judo pool stage. She won a medal of each colour at European Championships; gold in 1993, silver in 1996 and bronze in 1990 (then representing East Germany). In East Germany, she won six national titles in 1984, 1986-90. After reunification, she added the German national titles in 1994 and 1996.
