Biography

Dean Glenesk was an Army Specialist 5 in 1984 when he competed at the Los Angeles Olympics. Glenesk also made the 1980 US Olympic team that did not participate. He was a member of the 1980, 1981, and 1983 World Championship teams. Glenesk swam and ran cross-country in high school. He attended the University of Texas, graduating in 1985 with a degree in electrical engineering. Glenesk’s wife, Agenta Lekander, was a 1,500 metre runner for Swedish junior national team in late 1970s. Their son, Niklas Glenesk, was on the swim team at George Washington University.
