Georges Van Den Bossche and his brother Oscar won gold in the eights at the 1910 European Championships on home water in Oostende. Two years later, Georges was a member of the Belgian coxed four that competed in the 1912 Olympic regatta. After defeating Roklubb Købnhavn in the heats, they were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Norway’s Kristiania Roklub. With the same crew Belgium won silver behind Switzerland at the 1912 European Championships in Genève. In 1920, Georges and Oscar Van Den Bossche won bronze in the coxed pairs at the European Championships in Mâcon. At the Antwerpen Olympics in 1920, they lost their heat against the eventual gold medallists from Italy.
In the eights, he also claimed three Belgian Championships with the Koninklijke Roeivereniging Sport Gent (1910, 1912, 1919).
