Biography

Georges Willems won gold in the eights at the 1910 European Championships on home water in Oostende. Two years later, Willems was a member of the Belgian coxed four that competed in the 1912 Olympic regatta. After defeating Roklubb Købnhavn in the heats, they were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Norway’s Kristiania Roklub. With the same crew Belgium won silver behind Switzerland at the 1912 European Championships in Genève.
