Biography

Mario Loch was a German flyweight boxer who was eliminated in the second round at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. In 1991, he was runner-up at the European Championships to the 1996 Olympic bantamweight gold medallist István Kovács. Loch won the East German national title in 1988 and 1989, and also the German title after reunification in 1992. The following year Loch retired at the early age of 23 years. He later worked as a construction worker and barman.
