Biography

Joachim Schür won the West German flyweight title in 1976, which was his qualification for the Montréal Olympics. He was then eliminated in the first round when the referee stopped the contest against North Korean Jong Jo-Ung. Schür’s brother Norbert was also an amateur boxer from Gelsenkirchen.
