Biography

At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, German heavyweight boxer Bert Teuchert lost his second-round bout against the eventual Cuban gold medallist Félix Savón. In 1989, Teuchert won the bronze medal at the European Championships. From 1990-92, he won three consecutive German national titles. He also won the Chemie Cup international tournament at Halle on Saale in 1990 and 1993.

Teuchert later turned to coaching and combat sports. He was German kickboxing champion in 1986 and 1987. Teuchert coached at BSV Freiburg and became a firefighter by profession.
