Biography

Heinrich Mederow was an East German rower, who was a member of the coxed eights crew that won the bronze medal at the 1972 München Olympics. The boat lost the silver medal by only 6/100 seconds against the US. In 1973 he earned the East German nationals and the European Championships.

Mederow later became a rowing coach at SG Dynamo Potsdam until re-unification. He then moved to the national police. In 2007, he returned to coaching with the scullers of the German national team.
