Rower Károly Levitzky started his sports career at Nemzeti Hajós Egylet (NHE) in 1903. He won the single sculls national championship five times. He also won numerous international competitions, including the Austrian and Danube Championships, as well as the Alster Cup. His 50th and last victory was in 1926. After his retirement, Levitzky was the director of the NHE between 1927-29, and was also a member of the Council, and worked as a rowing coach.

Besides rowing, Levitzky also had great success in speed skating. In 1907, he won the first Hungarian college championship over 1000 meters, representing the Budapesti Korcsolyázó Egyesület. In 1909, he graduated from the Pázmány Péter University Medical School. From 1916 he worked as a medical doctor for the Hungarian Royal State Police in Budapest and later, in 1942, as the Chief of Police, at the National Social Insurance Institute.
