Biography

From 1904, up to the 1908 London Olympics, Kálmán Vaskó was cox of the famous Pannónia Rowing Club eights. Following the formation of the Hungária Rowing Club, he moved to them, and was in their eight at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. Work commitments forced him to cut short his sporting career. He was, firstly, a postal inspector, and later, a chief financier of the Red Cross Hospital. Vaskó was called out of retirement by Hungary in 1927 when they needed an experienced cox, and he helped them out for a short while.
