Biography

Henricus Tromp, a student of mining engineering, was a crewman of the Minerva eight that competed at the 1900 Olympics and placed third. He worked in the mining industry in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia), where he was born. He officially changed his surname to Van Hettinga Tromp on 18 April 1925.
