Ivar Aronsson rowed for RK Three Towns and the Kungälvs Rowing Club. He competed in two events at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, winning a silver medal in the coxed fours, and placing fourth in the eight. Aronsson won two silver medals at the European Championships, and added a gold at the Nordic Championships. He continued to row competitively as he got older, winning four golds in the Veterans’ World Cup. Aronsson won 13 Swedish titles in his career.
