Biography

Francesco De Piccoli picked up boxing in 1955, and won Italian heavyweight titles in 1959 and 1960. At the Olympics, he easily reached the final, in which he knocked out his opponent (Daan Bekker) after just 90 seconds. De Piccoli immediately turned pro, and went on to win 37 of his 41 fights. He never contested a professional title fight. Retiring at 28, he became a driving instructor.
