Biography

Nancy Meiss was an ice dancing judge at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. When she was only 17, she became President of the Chicago Figure Skating Club’s junior club in 1939, and in 1958 began judging at all levels of competition, eventually serving as a figure skating judge for over 50 years.

Meiss started the Queen City Figure Skating Club of Cincinnati, serving as its President from 1971-74, and was later named a lifetime honorary member. She was instrumental in getting the 1979 US Figure Skating Championships and the 1987 World Championships held in Cincinnati. In 2008 she was inducted into the US Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
