Biography

Belgian-born German volleyball player Nancy Celis was on the squad that placed eighth at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. She won more than 30 international caps with Belgium before moving to Germany in 1985, where she added over 100 more caps with her adopted country. Celis also participated in the 1990, 1994, and 1998 World Championships.

At club level, Celis played in Belgium with Rebels Lion and Antonius Herentals, and in Germany with CJD Feuerbach (1985-88), VF Bayern Lohhof (1988-91), and USC Münster (1995-97). She also played in Italy with Teseco Sesto San Giovanni (1991-93), Impresem Agrigent (1993-94), Latte Rugiada Matera (1994-95), and Medinex Reggio Calabria (1997-98), and finally in Turkey with Vakifbank Ankara (1998-2001).

Celis won national titles with Latte Rugiada Matera in 1995, and with USC Münster in 1996 and 1997. Additionally, she won the national cups in Italy in 1995, and Germany in 1996 and 1997.
