Biography

Paolo Montorsi was an Italian volleyball player. Domestically he played exclusively in the First League with Panini Modena, where he won four titles (1970, 1972, 1974, 1976) under coach Federzoni.

Montorsi débuted with the national team in Sofia on 7 June 1972 in a defeat against Czechoslovakia (3-0). He competed at the 1974 World Championships in Mexico (19th place overall) and, two years later, took part in the Olympic tournament in Montréal (eighth place). It was the first time that an Italian volleyball team (men or women) had taken part in the quadrennial Games. The last of his 134 international caps was the bronze medal match at the 1979 Mediterranean Games, which Italy lost against France 3-1.
