Biography

Armand Boppart grew up in St. Gallen where he also attended school and later worked for the Swiss post. His career ended with the rank of inspector and he was responsible for buildings and materials. After his retirement he spent another ten years working for civil defense. All of his lifetime he was an enthusiastic swimmer and water polo player. In 1922 he was a founding member of the Swiss Swimming Federation and later became president of his home club SC St. Gallen. In 1933 he was a founding member of the Swiss Life Saving Society for which he worked for many years, offering his experiences in several areas.
