Biography

Leonard Van De Roye was the Belgian champion and record-holder in the light-heavyweight weightlifting from 1920-21. He placed equal eighth in the light-heavyweight competition at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics, with Jaroslav Dvořák of Czechoslovakia. Van De Roye was also an active gymnast and longtime member and leader of the Borgerhoutsche Turners throughout the 1900s and 1910s.
