Borislav Gidikov had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1988 Olympics Middleweight class (375.0 kg); 2nd in the 1986 World Championships Middleweight class (372.5 kg); 1st in the 1987 World Championships Middleweight class (375.0 kg); 2nd in the 1986 European Championships Middleweight class (357.5 kg); 3rd in the 1987 European Championships Middleweight class (367.5 kg). He set one world record in the middleweight snatch in 1986.
