Norair Nurikyan had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1972 Olympics Featherweight class (402.5 kg); 1st in the 1976 Olympics Bantamweight class (262.5 kg); 3rd in the 1971 World Championships Featherweight class (377.5 kg); 1st in the 1972 World Championships Featherweight class (402.5 kg); 2nd in the 1973 World Championships Featherweight class (267.5 kg); 3rd in the 1974 World Championships Featherweight class (277.5 kg); 1st in the 1976 World Championships Bantamweight class (262.5 kg); 3rd in the 1969 European Championships Bantamweight class (317.5 kg); 2nd in the 1972 European Championships Featherweight class (387.5 kg); 2nd in the 1973 European Championships Featherweight class (270.0 kg); 3rd in the 1974 European Championships Featherweight class (265.0 kg); 1st in the 1976 European Championships Bantamweight class (255.0 kg).
