Biography

Weightlifter Georg Liebsch finished fifth in the featherweight class at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. In 1937 and 1938 he was World Champion and also the German Champion. Liebsch set three featherweight press world records from 1935-39. During World War II he was captured and returned home only in 1949.
