Biography
Sergey Poltoratsky had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1974 World Championships Middle-Heavyweight class (367.5 kg); 2nd in the 1975 World Championships Middle-Heavyweight class (372.5 kg); 1st in the 1977 World Championships Middle-Heavyweight class (375.0 kg); 3rd in the 1974 European Championships Middle-Heavyweight class (362.5 kg); 2nd in the 1975 European Championships Middle-Heavyweight class (372.5 kg); 1st in the 1977 European Championships Middle-Heavyweight class (375.0 kg). He set three middle-heavyweight world records – two in the press and one in the clean & jerk.
