Biography

Sam Termine was a middleweight weightlifter at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. Termine was from New Orleans, but moved to California at the age of five. He represented the Los Angeles Athletics Club when he competed for the United States at the Games, where he placed seventh and last by a considerable margin after failing to complete the clean and jerk. He returned to Los Angles and experienced a near-fatal automobile crash shortly after the Olympics. He later settled in Escondido in 1952. In 1963, he founded a trenching service, which he operated until his death, while on vacation in Las Vegas in 1978.
