Biography

Claude Chevalley played basketball with Jonction Genève in the 1940s and in 1948, was one of four players from his club (along with Claude Landini, Jean Tribolet and Henri Baumann) who were selected for the 1948 Olympic team to compete in London. There, the Swiss team eventually finished in 21st place, defeating Ireland in a classification match but losing all five round-robin games. Chevalley played in five matches, scoring 12 points.

Chevalley later played in a few more international matches in the 1950s, and was a member of six straight Swiss Basketball League championship winning teams with the Jonction club, from 1951 to 1957. Following his retirement, he coached in the 1960s and 1970s.
