Biography

Sailor Susanne Meyer-Bauckholt partnered with Katrin Adlkofer at the 1988 Seoul (representing West Germany), and 1996 Atlanta Olympics (now representing re-unified Germany). On each occasion, they competed in the two-person dinghy 470, and finished fifth each time. The duo landed their greatest successes at World Championships, winning two titles in 1987 and 1989, and two second places in 1994 and 1996. The pair also won the Kieler Woche five times.

Bauckholt later became an avid golfer (handicap 6) and was also a member of the German Olympic Sailing Committee.
