Biography

Scott Fisher was born in California but had Australian citizenship and played for Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Fisher played college ball at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned second-team All-Big West honors in both his junior and senior years.

Fisher played professionally in Australia, starting his NBL career in 1987 with the North Melbourne Giants, with whom he earned league MVP honors and won a league championship with them in 1989. In 1993 he moved to the Perth Wildcats and led them to runner-up finishes in the NBL in 1995 and 2000. In all Fisher played 417 NBL games in his career.

Fisher was on the Australian National Team from 1995-98, representing them at the 1998 Goodwill Games, winning a silver medal, and at the 1998 World Championships. Fisher retired in 2002 but was named to the NBL’s 20th Anniversary Team in 1998 and then again in the 25th Anniversary Team in 2003, and in 2007 Fisher was inducted into the NBL Hall of Fame.

Fisher went into coaching, becoming head coach of the Wildcats in 2004, staying with them through the 2007/08 season. In 2020 he became director of basketball operations at the University of Hawaii and in 2011 became an assistant coach at that school. In May 2014 Fisher became head coach at Ohlone College in Fremont, California.

In July 2016, Fisher married Dina Eastwood, ex-wife of Clint Eastwood.
