Biography

Alexander Hagen was a West German sailor who participated in the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the Star class with Fritz Girr. They finished tenth. In 1981 and 1997 Hagen won the gold medal at the World Championships. He also won eight European Championship, and several national titles. At the 2004 Athens Olympics, now representing re-unified Germany, Hagen partnered Jochen Wolfram and was placed 16th.

By profession, Hagen was a trained bank clerk. Later he founded his own company Star Rigg Services, developing and producing photovoltaic systems and alternative heating technologies for houses. He also became a sales partner for Torqeedo electric boat motors in Hamburg and Lübeck.
