Biography
Richard Hoepfner was a member of the all-Texan crew which took the silver medals in the Soling class at the 1976 Olympics. At the World Championships, he placed third in the Soling class in 1974 and fifth in 1975. Hoepfner won the North American title in Soling in 1974. He later worked in sales for American Communications. Hoepfner is a member of the National Sailing Hall of Fame.
