Finnish sailor Ville Kurki represented Naantali Sailing Club and was a multiple time national champion. At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Kurki and Richard Grönblom competed in the two-person keelboat event where the finished in 20th place. Their best individual result came in the fourth race of the competition when they finished in 12th. Kurki sailed at multiple editions of the Star World Championships between 1995 and 2004.
