Biography

Christoph, uncle of rowing brothers Bernhard and Paul Sieber, participated as a windsurfer at the 1992 Barcelona and 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics. He qualified for the Barcelona Games as the winner of the Kiel Week. Although he finished third at the 1994 European Championships, the Austrian NOC did not nominate him for the 1996 Atlanta Games.

With the Lechner A-390, Sieber placed fifth at the 1992 Olympics and with the mistral won the gold medal in 2000. Sieber also won six Austrian national titles. In 2004, he moved to sailing with the skiff (49er) class. By profession, Sieber held motivational lectures and seminars on mental training, performance optimisation and burnout prevention. Lechner later became sporting director with the Austrian NOC.
