Ronald Gray

In the mid-1950s Australian track and field athlete Ronald Gray represented Western Suburbs AAC in both the long jump and triple jump. Gray competed in both disciplines at the Australian Championships in 1955 and 1956, having a best result in the triple jump in 1956 when he finished fourth. He then focused more on the triple jump, taking part in the event for the national Olympic trials in October 1956, before competing at the Melbourne Olympics one month later. At the Games, however, Gray only managed a best effort of 14.46 metres in the qualifying round, short of the 14.80 metres that was needed to advance to the final.
