Sprinter, high-hurdler, and middle-distance runner Christiane Casapicola-Wildschek was Austrian champion in the 200 metres (1976), 400 metres (1976), 800 metres (1973, 1978-1980), 1,500 metres (1980), and 400 metres hurdles (1976 and 1978). She participated in the 1972 München Olympics with the 4x400 metres relay, failing to reach the second round. Four years later at Montréal, Casapicola-Wildschek reached the semi-final of the individual 400 metres.
Casapicola-Wildschek studied musicology at the University of Wien (Vienna) and classic guitar at the conservatory of dramatic arts and music. She then became a music teacher at Mödling. Casapicola-Wildschek regularly published scientific articles about music themes.
