Athlete Gernot Kellermayr was Austrian champion in the 4×100 relay champion (1990-91), 200 metres (1992) decathlon (1989), and heptathlon (1990-91,1993). He qualified for the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics where he placed 11th in the decathlon.
In 1993, Kellermayr tested positive for the anabolic steroid stenolone during a training test and was banned for four years. The ban was later reduced to two years.
After his career as a competitive athlete, Kellermayr completed his studies in sports science in 1995 and since then worked in the sporting goods industry in Austria.
