Biography

Lucien Bangels was a Belgian track and field athlete who specialised in middle-distance running, becoming the national champion in the 1,500 metres in 1920. Later the same year Bangels ran in the 1,500 metres and the 3,000 metres team event at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics, but was eliminated in the heats of both races. Bangels died in a car accident in the city of Sint-Truiden in 1951.
