Biography

A diamond worker by profession, Antwerpen-native Theofiel Roekaert was an active runner and cyclist in his youth. It was athletics, however, which he was most successful in, competing in various events throughout the 1910s. In 1920, he was selected to the national athletics team to represent his country at the Olympic Games held in his hometown. There, he competed in the 1,500 metres event, but did not advance past the heats.
